The MA Business Management programme will help you gain a wider perspective and thorough grounding in business management theory and practice through studying Management, Accountancy, Statistics and Economics. You will also select other courses from a range of options to complement our core curriculum; many students choose to pursue a joint degree and select courses in a second discipline, while others focus on business management and take optional courses that further enhance their knowledge of this area.

First Year:
Managing Organisations; The Economics of Business and Society; Accounting and Entrepreneurship; The International Context for Business 2.

Second Year:
Managing Customers and Marketing; Operations Management; Understanding Statistics; 60 credits of optional courses.

Third and Fourth Year (Honours):
Specialised management courses for honours students have a mixture of compulsory and elective
courses in subjects such as: Research Methods for Business; Human Resource Management; Business Ethics; New Venture Development; Consultancy & Change; Understanding & Managing Behaviour in Organisations.

The courses offered are based around staff’s specialist research areas. Honours students will complete a dissertation in Business Management (or in their other joint honours subject).

Entry Requirements

2027 entry requirements:

Standard entry:
4 Highers at BBBB plus English at National 5.

For second year entry you would require 2 Advanced Highers at AB.

Widening access entry:
3 Highers at BBC plus English at National 5.

1 Foundation Apprenticeship is accepted in place of a Higher.
