Understand how people learn mathematics and gain insight into different teaching approaches. We designed this unique degree with teachers - or those interested in mathematics education - in mind. It will develop your knowledge and understanding of mathematics and statistics. And broaden your ideas about what it means to learn, teach and use these subjects. You’ll also gain a good grounding in mathematics (pure and applied) and statistics; You can focus your studies on either discipline as you progress.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal qualifications, but if you're new to study or to the OU, it is recommended that you start at Level 1. You need some experience in maths and should be comfortable with a number of topics, such as fractions, square roots and scientific notations.
