Content

Throughout this graphic design course, students will be supported to develop their creative ability and technical knowledge through a range of practical projects and creative briefs. Students will gain an extensive understanding of the design process, develop their own creative concepts, learn technical software skills and produce finished design work both printed and digitally.

This course will prepare students for a career in the exciting and fast paced world of graphic design. Please be aware that the SQA award achieved on completion of the course is HND Visual Communication.

Content:

Graphic Design; Illustration; Digital Imaging; Typography; Photography; New Media; Portfolio Production; Printmaking; Desktop Publishing.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including Art and Design and preferably English plus National 5 English (if not held at Higher), or Foundation Apprenticeship Creative and Digital Media plus Higher Art and Design, or relevant qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Portfolio submission and interview.
