Health and Social Care SCQF Level 6 is a qualification for people who want to work in a variety of healthcare or social services setting and in a variety of roles, supporting people with varying needs.

It will give you a deep understanding of working with people, and through the mixture of practical and theory-based classes, it will help you to integrate knowledge and theory into practice, including the importance of anti-discriminatory practice, in line with the Health and Social Care Standards and Scottish Social Services Council Codes of Practice.

You may study:
Human development and behaviour; Social influences; Values and principles; Understanding mental health and mental illness; Stress and stress management; Working in health and social care settings; Understanding and supporting people in health and social care.; Practical care skills; Communication.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 including English. Interview and written task.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.

Progression Routes

On successful completion of this course, you can apply for the BSc Nursing.
