Explore the core aspects of electrical engineering and specialise in key areas:

maths in an engineering context and enhance your IT skills with various software application packages; develop knowledge, understanding and skills in a range of core electrical principles, incorporating DC and AC principles, electrical power systems, electrical machine principles and electrical safety; master Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and create programs for industrial processes; develop practical skills in installing domestic and industrial electrical wiring systems, and practical use of testing instruments; achieve a degree of specialisation within the following areas: Electrical Principles, Information Technology, Power Electronics, Networks and Resonance, and Programmable Logic Controllers.

Throughout the course you will develop a range of communication knowledge and skills relevant to the needs of electrical engineers.

Entry Requirements

Higher Maths and Physics or a technological subject, or NC Electrical Engineering (Level 6), or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.
