The HND in Electrical Engineering is a continuation of the HNC in Electrical Engineering and will progress the extensive learning achieved in the HNC.

On completion of this course you will have enhanced your knowledge and understanding of:

Electrical circuit design including cable calculations, overcurrent protection and knowledge of electrical installation systems and the latest edition of the electrical regulations; Electrical motor drive systems with earth protection, starting methods and transmission arrangements; Energy systems, demand, emissions and production, sustainable and non-sustainable; Energy Efficiency; Utilisation of electrical energy in buildings for power, heating, lighting and ventilation; The effect of complex waveforms on transmission lines as well as electrical parallel and series circuits; Continued study of mathematics for engineers; High Voltage protection systems and transformers; Inspection and testing of Low Voltage Electrical Installations.
