SVQ workplace units:
Promote Effective Communication; Promote Health, Safety and Security in the Work setting; Develop your Practice through Reflection and Learning.

Core units:
Care in contemporary Society; Leadership starts with me; Health wellbeing and safeguarding; Lifespan development theoretical approaches; Support for play learning and development or playwork opportunities; Graded Unit 1.

Optional units:
Language literacy and numeracy; Supporting children and young people’s behaviour; Supporting children and young people with additional support needs.

This course is 1 year integrated with 2 days practical placement.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers, or 1 Higher and a relevant Foundation Apprenticeship; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. You must have relevant child care experience. You must be able to communicate effectively. Interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
