This advanced Social Care course is ideal if you are committed to a career in the Social Care sector.

The full-time course incorporates three units from SVQ 3 Health & Social Care and has a significant practical placement element.

This qualification will allow you to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Content:
Care in Contemporary Society, Leadership Starts with Me, Health, Wellbeing and Safeguarding, Lifespan Development Theoretical Approaches, Care Practice, Graded Unit, Understanding Loss and the Process of Grief, Understanding and Supporting Behaviour, Mental Health Issues in a Care Setting, Plus 3 SVQ units.

Entry Requirements

NC Health and Social Care (Level 6); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.

Progression Routes

The course may allow students to progress to University, particularly degree courses in Social Work, and can also lead to progression to mental health nursing.
