It incorporates 3 units from SVQ Health and Social Care at SCQF Level 7, and has a significant practical placement element.
Care in Contemporary Society, Leadership Starts with Me, Health, Wellbeing and Safeguarding, Lifespan Development Theoretical Approaches, Care Practice, Graded Unit, Understanding Loss and the Process of Grief, Understanding and Supporting Behaviour, Mental Health Issues in a Care Setting, Plus 3 SVQ units.
English at Higher or National 5 plus care work experience. Or NC Health and Social Care (Level 6) inclusive of work placement. Aptitude test and interview.

The course may allow students to progress to University, particularly degree courses in Social Work, and can also lead to progression to mental health nursing.
