Following on from SCQF Level 5 Childcare & Development, this course allows you to further develop your knowledge and understanding of the early years and childcare sector.

It includes a mandatory placement opportunity for students who demonstrate the appropriate skills and values. Upon completion, you will be eligible to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) at support worker level.

If you wish to continue studying Childhood Practice at HNC level, this course will help you build a solid foundation of the underpinning knowledge required.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 at B including English; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. You would require evidence of a relevant work placement (normally 40 hours).

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
