MA (Hons) Applied Modern Languages and Translating at Heriot-Watt University allows you to study two languages to degree level and spend a year abroad on placement with two of our partner universities, where you will be immersed in your studied languages and cultures. You can choose two languages from: Chinese, French, German and Spanish.

Entry Requirements

2025 entry requirements:
Standard entry: 4 Highers at AABB (two sittings) including main language at A plus English at National 5.

Widening access entry: 4 Highers at BBBC (two sittings) including main language at B plus English at National 5.

For entry to year 2 you would require 2 Advanced Highers including a relevant language at B plus Highers at AABB.
