First Year: Language studies in each language (translation, spoken classes, aural comprehension, writing in the foreign language); Modern History and Culture of the countries whose languages are being studied; Text Analysis and Production; and an additional optional subject. Students taking intensive classes in their second language do not take this optional subject.

Second Year: Language studies in each language (including translation, liaison and conference interpreting, literature); Society and Institutions in Contemporary Europe; Linguistics and an additional optional subject throughout the year.

Third Year: All students do two five-month placements, one per language studied, in countries where their foreign languages are spoken (France, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Mexico), following courses in university departments of Interpreting and Translating, or other approved institutions.

Fourth Year: Students choose either the LINT or ALT programme. Both programmes share subjects such as Translation Studies, Applied Translation, European Studies and spoken classes. However, the LINT programme focuses on developing interpreting skills and therefore includes activities such as Conference and Liaison Interpreting.

Standard entry: 4 Highers at AAAB (two sittings) including a relevant language at A plus English at National 5.

Widening access entry: 4 Highers at BBBC (two sittings) including a relevant language at B plus English at National 5.
