This course will provide you with the opportunity to objectively explore how societies and humans function. Throughout the course, you will gain insight into human behaviour, relationships, culture, institutions and social issues. You will learn to perceive the world differently and develop skills that will be transferable to the private, public and voluntary sectors or to Higher Education.

You will gain transferable skills in critical thinking, problem solving and presentations; all of which are essential to progress in education. Successful completion of this Level 6 course (including passing Higher Sociology with a C grade) guarantees you a place on the HNC Social Science and the chance to progress subsequently to university.

This is an academic course and you need to enjoy reading, writing and researching to succeed. You also need to be interested in all the subjects on the course.
