University of St Andrews

Content

By studying Spanish, you will engage with the language, histories and cultures of over 500 million people. At St Andrews, the primary objective is to gain knowledge and use of the language while exploring the great continuities and shifts within Spanish and Spanish-American culture, from its early beginnings to today.

The Department of Spanish provides a lively and communicative approach to learning Spanish along with a formal learning structure and small-group teaching. Spanish is studied in many contexts, including journalism, history, commerce, translation, linguistics, literature and cinema.
