This one-year course is designed to support adults to return to formal education after a significant gap in learning and prepare them for higher level study.

The course includes a wide range of interesting subjects including:
Social sciences: Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, Social Anthropology, Criminology, RMPS; National 5 Maths (External exam); Level 6 Communication and Literature 1 (equivalent of Higher English); Extracurricular content, such as West Lothian College Justice Conference, Livingston Sheriff Court visit, online conferences.

Entry Requirements

To meet SWAP eligibility you have to have been out of full time education for at least 3 or 5 years if you already hold level 6 or above qualifications and want to enter a degree programme in social sciences.

Progression Routes

HNC Social Sciences. SWAP students may progress to a degree in Humanities. Degree in Primary Teaching.
