Are you interested in studying people and society? This fascinating course covers a range of topics including how the media, family and education influence people. This will help you to understand the inequalities that exist in a society. There will be a focus on the criminal justice system and you will be introduced to crime statistics and strategies for reducing criminality. You will also learn about how factors from the past have shaped the way we live today. From sociology and criminology to psychology, you’ll get a solid foundation in the social sciences, discovering how the world works from the point of view of social scientists.

The course includes National 6 level units in a selection of Social Sciences. The range of subjects offered include the following:

Sociology; Psychology; History; Criminology.

You will complete a minimum of one SQA Higher (external exam and coursework) in a social sciences subject.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 at A or B including English and social science subjects, or NC Social Science (Level 5).

Progression Routes
