This course is designed to prepare you for HNC level courses in the Social Sciences or other social subjects. It covers Level 6 units, including; psychology, genetics, and environmental aspects of behaviour, history and modern studies to politics or criminology, you’ll get a solid foundation in the social sciences, discovering how the world works from the point of view of Social Scientists.

The course includes National 6 level units in a selection of Social Sciences. The range of subjects offered include the following:

Sociology; Psychology; Politics; History; Modern Studies; Communication; Criminology.

You will complete a minimum of one SQA Higher (external exam and coursework) in a social sciences subject.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 at A or B including English and social subjects, or NC Social Science (Level 5). Interview.

Progression Routes

HNC Social Sciences or other courses at SCQF Level 8.
