You will have the opportunity of courses in historical chronological order, ranging from the ancient world to the present day and gain a deeper understanding of the relationships between cultures and national traditions. You will benefit from access to our historic treasures including manuscripts, books, and museum exhibits collected by distinguished alumni, thinkers and explorers over 500 years, in collections accredited as nationally significant, and of international importance.

Entry Requirements

2026 entry requirements:

Standard entry:
4 Highers at BBBB plus English at National 5.

For second year entry you would require the above plus Advanced Higher History and Music at AB or BA.

Widening access entry:
3 Highers at BBC plus English at National 5.

1 Foundation Apprenticeship is accepted in place of a Higher.

Candidates are required to demonstrate a strong interest in the study of music in one or more of a range of disciplines including performance, composition, music technology, musicology, and community engagement. Graded qualifications on instrument or voice are welcome but are not essential. Performance studies will require audition on arrival.
