The HND Sports Therapy (year 2) will improve the skills, competencies and techniques learned in the HNC Soft Tissue Therapy. It will build on the practical opportunities previously gained to enhance essential industry experience. This may include running Edinburgh College-based sports clinics as well as having more responsibility at events previously attended.
What you will learn:
You will develop the skills, competencies and techniques previously learned in HNC Sports Therapy in order to analyse, plan and evaluate appropriate sports therapy treatment. This course will advance your knowledge and understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body along with biomechanics and movement patterns.
You will learn taping techniques, the use of electrotherapy as a treatment, how to plan and deliver sports-based rehabilitation programmes, explore the psychology of sports injury, health promotion activities and clinical assessment of sports injuries.
