This wide-ranging joint honours programme enables you to study two popular modern languages in their diverse cultural contexts.
Over one third of Europeans speak German as their first language, while French extends your career opportunities beyond Europe to the Americas and large parts of Africa.
Through intensive language study, including a year abroad, you will have the opportunity to acquire advanced spoken and written skills in both French and German.
In addition to your language classes, you will explore aspects of French-speaking (Francophone) and German-language culture from the Middle Ages to the 21st century.
Courses cover: literature; art and cinema; political history; social movements; and philosophical ideas.
