Content

On the ancient history degree, you will study the history of ancient Greece and Rome and will be welcome to expand your studies to the later Roman/late antique and Byzantine periods, if you so desire.

You will also be able to study other ancient civilisations that came into contact with the Greeks and Romans, such as: the Neo-Hittite states; the Etruscans; the Persians; Egypt; the Carthaginians; and Judaea.

The programme will enable you to contextualise Graeco-Roman history within its wider Mediterranean context. This includes: religious history; social history; economic history; political history; and cultural history.
