This is a one year course that has been designed in agreement with The University of Glasgow, to allow successful students to progress onto Year 2 of specific degree programs within the University’s College of Social Sciences.

An HNC in Social Sciences seeks to develop analytical, evaluative, problem solving and communication skills. This course provides in-depth study of the main social science subjects including:-
Psychology; Sociology; Politics; History.

In addition to studying these subjects, there are 2 compulsory units included – research methodology and a graded unit exam.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers (1 at B), English and social science subjects preferred, or NC Social Sciences (Level 6) or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Entry subject to interview and written test.

Applicants must meet widening access criteria.
