This is an excellent course that offers progression onto the HND Social Sciences as well as routes into a range of degree courses, employment and vocational training. You'll consolidate your existing knowledge from previous study of Social Subjects and enhance your knowledge of a wide and exciting variety of new subjects.

Content:

Explore the historical context of Sociology; Understand major psychological theories, from Forensic Psychology to Psychopathology; Analyse the structures and dynamics of UK and Scottish politics; Explore significant events in Scottish history, evaluating their social and political impacts; and, Embrace the importance of research in social science, culminating in your own research project.

Entry Requirements

Higher English and a social science subject at B, or Social Sciences (Level 6), or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.

Progression Routes

HND Social Sciences or 2nd or 3rd year entry to a relevant degree programme or employment.
