This joint degree looks at the changing nature of crime and the social, political, historical and individual forces behind these changes, with specific focus on study and influence of the main disciplines of Christian theology.
Year 1 - CertHE
You will study the following core modules.
Criminology: Introduction to criminological theory; Comparative institutions of justice; Foundations of research
Theology: Introduction to systematic theology
You will also choose one option module in theology from the following: Jesus and the Gospels; The Pentateuch; Understanding worship
Plus one further option module from our range of humanities subjects.
Year 2 - DipHE
You will study the following core modules.
Criminology: History of crime and punishment; Politics of policing; Practical research and analysis skills
Theology: Early church history
Plus two of the following: Old Testament prophecy; Person and work of Christ; Pauline theology; Exploring other faiths.
Year3 - BA
You will study the following core modules.
Criminology: Psychology of criminal justice; Victimology; Gender, crime and justice
Theology: Theological project
Plus two from the following: Christian spirituality: an overview; Hebrews; Scottish church history; Wisdom literature; Doctrine of God.
Year 4 - BA Hons
You will complete a dissertation in criminology or theology. You will also study one option module from your chosen dissertation subject, plus three option modules from the other subject.
