Content

This course will develop your knowledge and understanding of the sport and leisure industry, allowing you to specialise in either outdoor pursuits or traditional sport and fitness. It particularly suits people who are already participating in sport.

Outdoor pursuits route:
Sport development opportunities in the community/and in an organisation; Nutrition; Anatomy and physiology; Mountain biking; Kayaking; Climbing - indoor and outdoor; Skiing.

Sport and fitness route:
Sport development opportunities in the community/and in an organisation; Organising a sporting event; Developing volunteering - you will spend time volunteering in a sporting area of your choice, and learn how to support volunteers in the industry; Sporting event marketing and operations; Circuit training/fitness testing; Programme development; Coaching sessions; Nutrition; Anatomy and physiology; Practical units including basektball and badminton.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 5; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5.

Progression Routes

Relevant HNC, HND or degree course.
