If you want to work with sportspeople in the rehabilitation of injuries this is the ideal course for you.

This is a one-year practical course that includes a strong theoretical component. Providing you with an industry-recognised qualification, this course develops the knowledge and skills required for you to work as a Soft Tissue Therapist delivering clinical sports massage treatments. There may be opportunities to work with local sports clubs, businesses and also the wider college community through our clinics and health and wellbeing initiatives as well as supporting national and international sporting events. These opportunities will assist you in gaining the required number of practice hours in order to demonstrate your competence in a variety of relevant techniques.

This course offers the opportunity to be competent in a variety of relevant techniques and has the understanding needed for safe practice. You will learn how to use various modalities to treat the soft tissues of a wide range of ages and abilities of people who might participate in recreational levels through to elite-level performance.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers, preferably English and a science subject; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview. Practical and written test.
