This is a course primarily aimed at returning adults who have been out of mainstream education for some time or people who have few or no academic qualifications and who are keen to access Higher Education/University but who may not be able to do so via the traditional routes. The course offers a supportive learning experience to study SQA units which have been agreed with SWAP (Scottish Wider Access Programme). It is an exciting and interesting course which includes the opportunity to study a variety of subjects, with the aim of progressing to Higher Education/University the following year.

It is a 1 year fast-track to Higher Education/University, although part time study may be possible.

Content: Psychology; Sociology; History; Politics; Communication and Literature. Other subjects may be included in the programme, for example Geography and Criminology.

Students who have been out of formal education and with few or no qualifications may be considered for this course or students who are looking for a complete change of direction.
