The figures below are only a guide. Actual pay rates may vary, depending on:

Starting salaries may be based on the National Minimum Wage (NMW). The apprentice rate, for those aged under 19 or aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship, is £6.40 an hour (1 April 2024). Trainee tyre or exhaust fitters can earn between £7,000 and £9,000 a year.

Newly qualified tyre or exhaust fitters may earn around £13,000 to £16,000 a year. With experience, this can rise to between £17,000 and around £25,000 a year.
