You will be taught by industry professionals with a wide range of industrial experience who will provide you with the training required to develop a career in the beauty industry and impart essential knowledge to equip you for employment.

The qualification develops skills in a realistic working environment using contemporary salon equipment and will develop a proficiency in an array of salon treatments.

To enhance learning and ensure better understanding of treatments, you will be required to practice on each other and must be willing to receive all treatments on your course prior to completing assessments. As part of your practical training, you will be responsible for sourcing clients to complete your assessments. To support you in this, we maintain a small bank of regular clients.

To replicate the professional standards in industry, you will be required to wear the designated uniform in all practical classes (black tunic and trousers/leggings) and black closed-toe shoes/trainers which you will be expected to supply yourself. You will also be required to wear no jewellery to practical classes for health and hygiene purposes and to avoid loss or damage.

Entry Requirements

1 Higher, preferably English or a science subject plus 3 subjects at National 5; or NC Beauty Care or SVQ Beauty Therapy at SCQF Level 6.
