Content

This course will introduce you to a range of science and healthcare subjects to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding required for progression to a university degree programme or HNC course at SCQF Level 7 in nursing or a health related field.

Content includes:
First Aid; Prevention of infection; The Human Body; Numeracy; Communications; Dementia; Understanding Mental Health Issues; Preparing for Higher Education; Other nursing/health/science related units.

Assessment will be continuous, with a mix of practical and theoretical assessments. There is no final examination.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements. You should have been away from formal education for at least 3 years. You will be invited to attend an interview.

Progression Routes

Some guaranteed places may be available at the University of the West of Scotland, Glasgow Caledonian University or the University of Stirling; or you could complete a relevant HNC.
