Content

This is a work-based programme validated by the Scottish Social Services Council and is offered as an on-line distance learning programme.

It is based on course elements detailed in the benchmark statements provided by QAA Education Studies, SCQF and the Standard for Childhood Practice.

The programme combines an increased understanding of theory with critical reflection on practice and aims to develop the research skills of practitioners for ongoing professional development. Formative assessment is a feature of all courses and assignments focus directly on workplace applications.

Accredited Prior Learning (APL) claims will be assessed by presentation or a combination of presentation and assignment.

Entry Requirements

HNC Childhood Practice or other relevant qualification. You are also expected to be employed in a relevant setting for a minimum of 12.5 hours per week.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
