HND Coaching and Developing Sport course will give you the underpinning knowledge and practical coaching skills you need to pursue a career in a sports-related field or to progress to Higher Education.

The HND includes an embedded PDA in Sports Coaching at SCQF Level 8. The PDA is jointly certificated with Sportscotland and the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA). This is an entry to year 2.

Subjects covered include:

Sports development 2; Sports coaching practitioner: knowing yourself 2; Sports coaching practitioner: knowing others 2; Sports coaching practitioner: knowing coaching 2; Sports coaching and development: graded unit 2; Physical preparation for sports performance; Psychology of sport and exercise; Current exercise trends.

Please note: that all students will have to purchase a college sports kit at a cost of approximately £50.

Entry Requirements

Relevant HNC. Entry subject to interview.
