Do you have an interest in Art and Design? This course offers the opportunity to explore your creative side though a range of specially delivered units of study that prepare you for progression into a creative discipline of your choice. Through studying art and design you have the opportunity to develop an inspirational approach to research, design development and production of final art work.
You will explore sketchbook development, drawing, mixed media, fashion design, garment construction, textiles techniques and surface decoration from interpretation of initial brief through to final realisation and the production of a professional portfolio of your work to present to employers, colleges, university or to set up a creative venture of your own.
You’ll explore a number of creative disciplines, research the work of other artists and undertake projects to express a range of skills, completing final pieces for assessment as you progress.
2 subjects at National 4 including English or an art based subject. Portfolio of work.
This course provides good progression routes for further study in art, design, textiles and fashion sectors as well as the production of a portfolio for application to many design orientated Higher Education Establishments at College or University.
