If you already have a degree but you don’t have all the entry requirements for a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), this course can help.

It allows you to study NC Communication and Literature 1 (an alternative to higher English) and National 5 Application of Mathematics. You’ll also build your knowledge of the Scottish education system and key policy drivers as well as studying aspects of learning and teaching practice, giving you a brilliant foundation for further study on a PGDE course. If you successfully complete the course, you’re guaranteed an interview for a University of Glasgow or Strathclyde PGDE course.

Contents Include:
NC Communication/Literature 1 (Higher English ‘C’ equivalent); National 5 Applications of Mathematics; A range of units covering aspects of learning, teaching and behaviour support; Coping strategies and building resilience; Work experience (to be arranged by the student, with support from Glasgow Clyde College).

Entry Requirements

National 5 English at A or B and National 4 Maths at A or B. A degree in a subject acceptable for admission to the PGDE course. Interview.
