NQ Beautician (Level 6) provides an excellent grounding in the field of beauty therapy, allowing you to develop the skills and theoretical knowledge required to progress to further study or obtain employment within the industry.

The beauty industry is a vibrant and growing field full of exciting opportunities. As interest in cosmetology and beauty therapy continues to expand, there is an increasing demand for skilled and knowledgeable professionals. This beauty course aims to equip students with the skills, techniques, and experience needed to begin rewarding careers in this dynamic industry by providing a comprehensive skill set that aligns with current industry standards, and meets with employers' expectations.

During this NQ Beautician course, you will study and develop skills in the application of popular beauty treatments such as facials, eye treatments, body massage, waxing, manicures and pedicures.

Commercial work experience is included in this course, which provides valuable insight into the beauty and spa industry.

During training you will initially work on fellow classmates and then progress to working on real clients. You will also be required to model for treatments yourself.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 5 including English, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview and skills test.

Progression Routes

You could move into jobs in the beauty industry, spas, cruise ships or progress onto further courses to develop your skills further.
