This year is primarily focused on identifying and developing your own studio practice in preparation for 2nd or 3rd year entry of art school. Delivered through three main projects (one of which is the graded unit 2) you will be developing your work in a manner which reflects your particular specialism and area of interest. You will be given tutorial guidance and support throughout and be encouraged to learn through reflective practice to work as an independent artist. In addition, you will take part in planning and exhibiting your work in a professional manner. Theoretical study is an integral part in year 2 projects. Preparation for art school is also imbedded into the programme through talks, presentations and visits.

The college has facilities which will allow you to work in any of the following areas:

- 3D Art Practice: sculpture, ceramic, glass, casting, installation
- 2D Art Practice: drawing, painting, printmaking - screen printing/ etching/ intaglio, digital photoshop, moving image.

HNC Fine Art: Contemporary Art Practice. Interview.
