Carpentry and Joinery is one of several trades which supports the massive industry known as construction - the building of houses, commercial premises (like shops, hotels or offices) and industrial premises (like factories or warehouses). Skilled tradespeople usually find themselves in high demand - from homeowners as well as industry - so if you invest in your abilities now, you could have a great future ahead!

Carpentry and Joinery involves the manufacture of products in a workshop which will then be fitted on site, examples being doors, windows, staircases or units. This course focuses on the skills you’ll need for a career in Carpentry and Joinery. As you might expect, you’ll do loads of practical work, but with a bit of theory too so you can find out what you need to know to work successfully in this trade.

Entry Requirements

Relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Entry subject to interview and practical test.
