Content

A practical course which will develop your design and technical abilities to ensure you have the the skills and knowledge to implement your ideas and designs in game development. Students will cover a range of computer development techniques including 2D and 3D Animation, Programming and Games Design Theory.

You will have the creative freedom to develop computer games of your own while being guided by lecturers. This will allow you to develop a portfolio of work for applying for employment or progressing to further study at university.

In Year 1 you will cover fundamental areas of game development, essential content, developing a mobile web application, digital graphics fundamentals, user interface design and 2D animation.

In Year 2 you will look at the design and development of video games. You will develop and design interactive media for at least two live video game projects.

Entry Requirements

1 relevant Higher + 3 subjects at National 5 (Foundation Apprenticeship accepted in place of 1 Higher); or Computer Games Development (Level 6); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.
