This introductory level course is suitable for those who wish to learn more about Art and Design and want to develop and extend this interest. This creative art course has been designed to introduce you the materials, methods and processes used by artists and designers today. You will be given the opportunity to experiment whilst developing your artistic skills.

This Introductory course?is heavily focused on developing the necessary skills to help you understand the art and design process. You will learn?techniques?and methods of working which are fun and challenging at the same time.

You will learn more about artists and?explore how to critique your own artwork.?Throughout the course,?we will help you?discover which areas?of art you are most interested in and encourage you to develop your skills in those areas.

Content Includes:
Drawing methods; Printmaking techniques; Working with a range of 2D media; 3D construction techniques; Sketchbook development; Introduction to animation; Portfolio presentation.

Entry Requirements

National 5 Art and Design or 4 subjects at National 4 including English and Art and Design; interview

Progression Routes

Advanced Portfolio Prep (UAL Level 3) or relevant HNC course.
