There is always a need for skilled tradespeople in building and construction. This full time course is an ideal way of gaining an overall understanding of the Construction sector in general and has been designed to develop your competencies in brickwork and joinery. You will study a range of subjects preparing you for further study, employment or an apprenticeship. This course is recognised by local employers as a pre-apprenticeship course.

Course content includes:

Health and Safety in a Construction Environment; Construction Occupation Practices: An Introduction; Develop Bench Joinery Skills; Manufacture Joinery Products; Develop Constructional; Carpentry Skills; Half Brick Walling: An Introduction; One Brick Walling: An Introduction; Fundamentals of Cavity Walling; Employability and Behavioural Skills; Information Communication Technology; Communication; Numeracy.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4 including a maths based subject; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4.
