With ever-increasing demand for vitally important digital skills in all areas of industry, this course is a hugely important step in achieving a highly valued qualification in computing. This is a SCQF level 6 course which will provide learners with both practical skills and theoretical knowledge in a range of computing subject areas, and supports progression to further study in crucial areas such as programming. This course will prepare students for progression onto a range of HN programmes in Computing, which in turn can lead to articulation to university.
Content:
NPA Cyber Security (including Data Security, Digital Forensics & Ethical Hacking); Higher Computing Science (units only); Authoring a Website; Applications Development; Network Literacy; Computing Hardware and Systems; Computing Project; Computing: Academic Skills; Mathematics for Interactive Computing.
5 subjects at National 5 including English, Maths and Computing Science, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. An interview and skills test may form part of the selection process.
