With ever-increasing demand for vitally important digital skills in all areas of industry, this course is a hugely important step in achieving a highly valued qualification in computing.

The course provides students with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge in a wide range of computing subject areas, such as Software and App Development, Web Authoring, Data Security, Digital Forensics, Ethical Hacking, Network Literacy and Computer Hardware and Systems.

On successful completion of the course, students may progress onto a range of HN programmes, which in turn can lead to articulation to university.

Content:
NPA Cyber Security (including Data Security, Digital Forensics & Ethical Hacking); Higher Computing Science (units only); Authoring a Website; Applications Development; Network Literacy; Computing Hardware and Systems; Computing Project; Computing: Academic Skills; Mathematics for Interactive Computing.

Entry Requirements

5 subjects at National 5 including English and Maths or Applications of Maths, Computing Science preferred, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. An interview and skills test may form part of the selection process.

Progression Routes

HNC Cyber Security or BSc Software Development with Cyber Security.
