This course covers a wide range of accounting concepts and provides you with an excellent grounding in the principles of financial and management accounting using manual and computerised approaches.
It is designed to prepare you for a career in accounting or financial administration.
Mandatory units:
Graded Unit 1: Accounting; Management accounting using IT; Preparing financial statements; Recording financial information; Using financial accounting software; Cost accounting.
Optional units may include:
Business Communication; Economic Issues: An Introduction; Business Law: An Introduction; Payroll; Marketing: An Introduction; IT in Business: Spreadsheets; Creating a Culture of Customer Care; Company Law: An Introduction; Personal Enterprise Skills; Statistics for Business; Business Contractual Relationships; Business Accounting; Managing People and Organisations; Project Management.
1 Higher at C or above; maths based subject preferred; or Foundation Apprenticeship in Accountancy, Business Skills or Financial Services; or NC Accounting or Business; or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.
