Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, the National Centre for Gaelic Language and Culture, provides world-class immersive learning, research and cultural opportunities that empower students, staff and partners to champion Gaelic.
Based in Sleat, Isle of Skye, immersion education is at the heart of everything that they do as the only centre of tertiary education in the world that provides its learning programmes entirely through the medium of Gaelic.

Facilities are spread over two campuses, Àrainn Ostaig and Àrainn Chaluim Chille, which are interlinked by a well-lit pathway and are only a short walk apart.
Courses and subjects
The college offers CertHE and DipHE, degrees and postgraduate qualifications, some of which are available by distance learning. There is also a range of short courses.
Other subjects that can be studied through the medium of Gaelic include Development, Teacher Education, Translation, Gaelic Culture, Media Studies or Traditional Music.

Sabhal Mòr Ostaig has modern facilities available on campus, including an exceptional library collection, broadcast and recording facilities, residential student accommodation and a Gaelic-medium child care facility.
