West College Scotland aims to create a vibrant and innovative college, with greater choice and better services and facilities for the local communities and wider west region.
It has three main campuses at Clydebank, Greenock and Paisley. It offers over 400 courses and has 21,500 students and 1,200 staff.
Courses and subjects
The college offers courses leading to a range of qualifications from NC and NQ through to degrees. Vocational and professional qualifications are also available.
Courses are taught in the following subjects: Acting and Technical Theatre; Art, Design, Graphics and Animation; Beauty and Complementary Therapies; Business, Administration and Accounting; Childcare; Computing and Games; Construction and Building Services; Dance; Engineering; English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Languages; Hairdressing; Health and Social Care; Hospitality and Professional Cookery; Interior Architecture and Architectural Design; Learner Development; Make-Up Artistry; Media, TV and Radio; Motor Vehicle; Music and Music Business; Nursing; Photography; Science; Social Sciences; Sound Production and DJ’ing; Sport and Fitness; and Travel and Tourism.
Facilities and services
There is a range of facilities across the three campuses, including: libraries with PCs and printing services; a bookshop; refectories and cafes. The Clydebank campus features science labs and well equipped engineering and construction workshops. The Greenock campus also features a training restaurant and a new spa salon.
Student Advisors are on hand to help on any aspect of college life, including with advice about funding. Most college students can receive financial support towards the cost of studying and the team can provide impartial advice to help you make an informed decision about your future.
