Content

This course is ideal for beginners or those with limited hairdressing experience. You’ll develop your understanding and basic practical techniques in shampooing, conditioning and colouring women’s hair, as well as styling skills such as dressing, plaiting and twisting.

You will also learn skills in men’s hair styling and creating a hair and beauty image. The topics covered will ensure you have a firm grasp of health and safety, and you’ll learn how to present yourself professionally in a salon and carry out effective team work and reception duties.

Course includes:
Working on real clients; Personal presentation and the careers available in the hair and beauty industry; Consultation and health and safety; Shampooing and conditioning; Men and women’s hairstyling techniques; Creative hairdressing skills; Basic cutting and colouring techniques; Reception duties; Working as a team.

2 subjects at National 4, preferably including English.
