Content

This course will enhance your understanding and practical skills in client consultation, shampooing, conditioning and scalp massage. You’ll focus on perfecting your basic styling, cutting, colouring, lightening and perming techniques, and there will be opportunities to develop your creative hairdressing skills.

The course also covers how to promote and sell a variety of products and services, alongside the importance of health and safety and reception duties.

You will train in a realistic work environment, which will prepare you for excellent salon experience for progression to employment.

Course includes:
Working on real clients; Client consultation and health and safety; Shampooing, conditioning and styling techniques; Women’s cutting; Colouring and lightening hair; Creative hairdressing work; Reception duties and selling techniques; Underpinning knowledge for hairdressing services.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 5 including English preferred; or Introduction to Hairdressing (Level 4); or other relevant qualifications at SCQF Level 4.
