This course will build on your existing basic hairdressing skills and help you develop more creative techniques suited to the current industry. All technical units on this course not only allow you to hone your existing skills additionally, you will develop creativity and advanced techniques.

Throughout this course you may take part in a variety of activities, including hairdressing competitions such as "WorldSkills", seminars, workshops and demonstrations from industry experts. Additionally, there are opportunities to take part in visits to European countries.

Subjects you'll study include:
Hair colouring and lightening, colour correction, combination cutting, creative cutting and styling, style dress and finish hair, styling for a total look, long hair, commercial experience, current make-up trends, gents haircutting.

Entry Requirements

NQ Hairdressing (Level 5); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. All applicants will be invited for interview.

Progression Routes

Relevant Beauty or Hairdressing course at HNC/HND level.
