This course builds on your existing skills, taking them to a more advanced and creative level, as you develop your artistic flair and technical expertise.

Here’s just some of what you may study:

Develop and build on skills in creative and combination cutting techniques; Develop and build on skills in creative and artistic colour techniques including colour correction; Develop and build on skills in styling and dressing long hair producing styles for high fashion and special occasions, showing creativity and imagination; Continue to develop skills in consultation techniques and general salon duties.

You’ll be required to secure a work placement within a hair salon for one day per week.

Entry Requirements

Hairdressing (Level 5), or other relevant hairdressing qualification at SCQF Level 5.

Progression Routes

A relevant course at SCQF Level 7 or employment.
