This qualification is designed to equip the student with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for further study within Beauty Care and Make-Up or to gain employment at a junior level within the sector. The emphasis of the award is to develop basic skills with the focus on practical activities which will be carried out in a realistic work environment.

You will study skills areas which include Customer Care, selling skills, facial skin care, day and corrective make-up, bridal and evening make-up and manicure. You may then specialise by undertaking units in nail art, waxing, massage and special make-ups.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 4 or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Interview.

Progression Routes

Beauty or Make-up courses at SCQF Level 6.
