The motor vehicle repair and maintenance sector is a dynamic and fast-growing industry, offering excellent career opportunities for motivated individuals. By joining this pre-apprenticeship programme, you will develop a broad range of foundational practical skills and underpinning knowledge that will prepare you to progress into an apprenticeship or, alternatively, allow you to continue your studies on our full-time Level 5 IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) qualification.

This course is ideal for candidates who are enthusiastic about car mechanics and want to learn the essential introductory skills required to begin a career in automotive repair and maintenance. It is designed for learners who thrive through practical engagement supported by appropriate classroom-based theory. The programme includes hands-on, skills-focused assessments alongside associated knowledge-based assessments.

Entry Requirements

National 4 English and Maths and preferably a science or technological subject. Interview and aptitude test.
