This is a programme which will allow you to gain and develop the skills, knowledge and understanding of the beauty sector and related industries. The National Certificate should be recognised by any potential employer as a measure of your abilities and should allow for employment in a junior role within the beauty industry. The course is delivered on a full-time basis and will provide you with a qualification and a defined skill set which reflects the skills essential for a successful career in this sector of employment.

Through units such as facial manual and electrical treatments, depilation techniques and body massage techniques learners will become competent in their practical ability as well as learning the importance of working together as part of a team and meeting the diverse needs of clients.

Employability skills such as time keeping, treatment timing, customer care and personal presentation will be developed as will the opportunity to consider good citizenship through recycling products and consumables, waste control measures and having an appreciation of the sustainability of product brands used.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 5, or NC Beauty Therapy Skills (Level 5) or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview.
