Education and Curricular Studies with a Teaching Qualification (Computing Science) (3rd year entry)

This course is aimed at students who have, or are soon to complete, a suitable HND from a college in Scotland or equivalent. It is a 4-year route into teaching, and comprises two years of study for an HND at college, followed by two years of study at Strathclyde. You have direct entry into Year 3 of a BSc (Hons) in Education and Curricular Studies with a Teaching Qualification (TQ).

Year 3 (BA): You will study the following: academic literacy and communication; Professionalism and Teacher Identity; Curricular Studies; possible exit with BSc in Curricular Studies without Teaching Qualification after Year 3.

Year 4 (BA Hons): Initial Teacher Education including school placements and leading to the BSc (Hons) in Education and Curricular Studies with a Teaching Qualification.

Entry Requirements

Relevant HND. Suitable HNDs include Computing Science and Software Development.

For entry to Year 4, you must also have Higher English plus National 5 Maths or Applications of Maths.
